Oh yeah, for one week and one week only, I am the FEATURED LISTENER at my favorite radio station. That's right, almost 15 entire minutes of fame! Actually, this is one of the best radio stations, I love the DJ's and the music is AWESOME. Plus, totally safe for the kids.
See, I used to listen to a rock station. This was a long time ago. But on Thursday mornings they did something called the dumb, uh, donkey news.... And I listened to it. With my 4 year old in the car. All was fine and dandy until I got a call from the director of the daycare. Apparently another child had done something my own child found distasteful, and my child called the other child a dumb, uh, donkey. That was a wake up call!
In other news, I really don't like my vacuum cleaner. It is one of the ever popular bagless vacuums. You know what this means? While you save money on vacuum bags, you spend even more money on filters that get nasty after three runs through the house. We are not going to talk about how nasty my carpet is, though. Because I'm more concerned about this dreadful vacuum that is making my life miserable. Every time you change the filter, it is impossible to get the silly bagless contraption back together. It will just pop right back apart. It is evil and it lives at my house. So right now, I'm taking vacuum cleaner recommendations. While I would love a Dyson, don't recommend that because I don't have that kind of money laying around, or in the bank even. What say you?

I like mine... it's a red one... from target.
I'll have to get back to you on what brand it is, because it's safe to say that it's been a while since I've looked at it... Even though Avery is crawling... Kids can digest crumbs and grass, right? ;)
Julie,
I highly recommend the Bissell Cleanview Bagless Vacuum. Now it's made cheaply, which means you'll probably be buying another one 3 years down the road, but it's relatively inexpensive (around $75)and man is it powerful! I have 3 cats and 2 dogs, so I needed something that would pick up the pet hair. This does it! I'm still disgusted (yet fascinated) at just how much dirt and hair it suck out of my carpet. AND another plus is that the main filter is one that you knock against the side of the building to get the dirt off, and then reuse.

Hey Julie....I like your choice of radio stations....The House FM ROCKS! (88.5 FM in the OKC area for those of you who read this and don't know.) As for the vacuum cleaner? I use this one. http://www.bissell.com/Products/p/6596/product.aspx. I bought it at Wal-Mart and if I have it, that means I didn't pay a lot for it. Amazing that every time I use it...I feel like I am living in the city dump cause it picks up so much filth. You rinse out the filters and are good to go for the next round. Easy!
OK, I don't want to insult anyone - but if you saw how NOT clean ALL of the above vaccuums are getting your homes, you would IMMEDIATELY call Rainbow and order one of their systems. Yes, they are expensive - more so that you even probably imagine, as you read this. BUT you can get refurbished models (which we did), and again - if you SAW the difference, you wouldn't care. It is truly the best investment I've ever made, second only to my car (which, I mean really - is a CAR). I have three dogs and three cats, and will NEVER be without a Rainbow vaccuum again! ESPECIALLY if I have children.
Here's another opinion on the Rainbow E2:http://www.theflooringlady.com/rainbow_vacuum.html
For myself, I found an Infinity bagless for $4.00 at my church bazaar sale. Cleaned it up and it works beautifully. I also have 3 dogs and one cat. I could sell sweaters made from the hair my Japanese Spitz sheds. This vacuum cleaner has an impressive filter system that just rinses off. I'm not much on vacuuming personally but if I have to, the Infinity, and the price!, suits me just fine.
